Kimberley Karavan Water System

Adequate fresh water capacity is essential for extended remote camping, and the Kimberley Karavan has a multi-source water supply system called Visi-flow™.

A dual tank system allows you to access different water quality so that you can preserve the “pure” drinking water for every day drinking water or for your tea.

Tank 1: 70 litre Poly-ethylene Tank

Tank 2: 120 litre Stainless Steel tank

In addition there is a third water inlet that is used for mains pressure water or for pumping from a nearby water source with up to 3-4m of head. A simple valve system switches to the remote water source and bypasses the on-board tanks.

Position 1: Inlet water is mains pressure water

Position 2: Inlet water is pumped from nearby stream/billabong.**

The Tank / tap system is set up as follows

70 litre Poly-ethylene Tank

120 litre Stainless Steel tank

** There are risks in pumping from a billabong or stream that relate to water quality. You should never drink or expose cooking utensils to water that is not potable unless you are absolutely certain of the quality of the water. The stainless steel heat exchanger can be flushed together with the lines but there is always a risk of bacteria in an unknown water source.

For this reason, we recommend to never put unknown water into the 70 litre poly ethylene tank.
