Community Overview

Kimberley Group have a number of initiatives for the community that are free of charge. A summary of them is:

Klean Kampsite A free rubbish bag holder is provided all Australians whether they own a Kimberley Product or not Funded by the owner of Kimberley Group Personally Goal is to collect an extra 100 tonnes of rubbish a year AND make camping cleaner and easier for all Australians
Kimberley Kampsite A free night's accomodation and entertainment for overnight visitors to a Kimberley Kampsite all Kimberley Product Owners (and Owners direct guests) Funded by Kimberley Group Goal is to provide networking of Kimberley owners, donation to the Royal Doctor Flying Service to assist travellers, a copy of the "seriously injured patients mediacl Guide" printed by Kimberley Group authored by the Royal Flying Doctors
Southern Cross Art Prize First Prize in the annual Southern Cross Art Competition in Ballina for the Northern Rivers District of NSW all artists Funded by Kimberley Group Goal is to recognise the importance of art and creative thinking in the community. Creative thinking is a strength of the Australian culture and essential in manufacturing innovation when combined with common sense.
Partnership with Ballina High School on Vocational Education Year 11 and 12 Students at Ballina High School doing the new combined HSC and Aprenticeship course selected Ballina High School students enrolled in the corse

Safety net offered to School in event that other employers fail to keep a similar student

Goal is to allow students to do BOTH an apprenticeship and attend school to complete a HSC with business studies. This guides students interested in self employment at an earlier stage in their life as they will have more business studies education
External Training to achieve Certificate Level 3 or 4 20 traineeships are offered annually to employees at Kimberley employees of the Kimberley Group Funded by Kimberley Group and Australian Govt Goal is to increase the training for those people who have left school, have a good attitude but don't have a trade. The courses include the high level certificate 4 course in Competitive Manufacturing with a Lecturer flown in from Sydney.
Preferred employment opportunities to local residents local residents registerred with Kimberley Group are approached for employment opporunities when they arise ahead of any advertised position local residents Kimberley Group give preference to those who register and are pre-qualified as suitable candidates. Staff turnover at Kimberley Group is low, but in the event of a vacancy, preferred candidates are approached first.
Support for disadvantaged children in local community

Donor to 3 locally run fund raising initiatives

Provide a Kamper at preferred pricing and annual support to St Joesephs Cowper Homes in Grafton who mentor and support young children in need

local fund raisers and orgaisers Kimberley Group Goal is to help the young members in local comunity
