Community Overview
Kimberley Group have a number of initiatives for the community that are free of charge. A summary of them is:

| Southern Cross Art Prize | First Prize in the annual Southern Cross Art Competition in Ballina for the Northern Rivers District of NSW | all artists | Funded by Kimberley Group | Goal is to recognise the importance of art and creative thinking in the community. Creative thinking is a strength of the Australian culture and essential in manufacturing innovation when combined with common sense. |

Goal is to allow students to do BOTH an apprenticeship and attend school to complete a HSC with business studies. This guides students interested in self employment at an earlier stage in their life as they will have more business studies education |
| External Training to achieve Certificate Level 3 or 4 | 20 traineeships are offered annually to employees at Kimberley | employees of the Kimberley Group | Funded by Kimberley Group and Australian Govt | Goal is to increase the training for those people who have left school, have a good attitude but don't have a trade. The courses include the high level certificate 4 course in Competitive Manufacturing with a Lecturer flown in from Sydney. |

Staff turnover at Kimberley Group is low, but in the event of a vacancy, preferred candidates are approached first. |
